Jeremy Mario (BS’92, MBA’96) serves as managing partner for private equity at Mario Family Partners, a venture capital fund he cofounded with his father and brothers in 2001. Focused primarily on early stage investments in healthcare and related technologies, MFP has funded significant advances in Alzheimer’s diagnosis, cardiovascular treatment, and hospital disinfection practices, among others. More than 20 MFP portfolio companies have gone on to successful IPOs and acquisitions.
In addition to advising and serving on the boards of many MFP-funded companies, Jeremy also serves as an advisor to Sovereign's Capital, Tectonic Ventures, RK Ventures, and the Texas Development Fund. Previously, he worked in clinical research, public health policy, and internet sports broadcasting.
Jeremy is a governor of the Mario Family Foundation, a private non-profit foundation that has supported more than 95 organizations involved in education, healthcare, historic preservation, and free market scholarship over the past 20 years. He has been a trustee of The Lawrenceville School since 2005, and previously served on numerous civic and community boards in Durham, NC, and Wailea, HI.
Jeremy and his wife Jennifer have lived in the Triangle area since their graduation from Duke in 1992, and now reside in Durham. They have a daughter in the Class of 2020 at the U.S. Naval Academy, and two young sons.
