Mike Wilkins

Mike Wilkins co-founded Kingsford Capital Management, an equity hedge fund, in 2001. Before forming Kingsford, he spent five years at West Highland Capital.

Mike also has been a screenwriter, author, and artist. His artwork, Preamble, is currently displayed at the Smithsonian American Art Museum as part of their permanent collection.  He produced and co-wrote The Independent, a 2000 comedy starring Jerry Stiller and Janeane Garofalo, and wrote Birch Street Gym, a live-action short nominated for an Academy Award in 1991.  He co-wrote Roadside America, a guidebook of off-beat tourist attractions now available online.  Mike is a minority owner of the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers and the NBA’s Golden State Warriors.

He was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina.  He earned a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Stanford University. He and his wife, Sheila, have one son, Sam.
